Which phones does it work on?
Any ordinary Android phone. There is no iPhone app. Administration works from any web browser.
Does it need the internet?
Yes — TappyCall works over Wi-Fi or mobile data, like WhatsApp. Unlike radio handsets there is no range limit: your yard, your other branch and your head office are all one press away.
Do I need a licence, like for walkie-talkies?
No. Hardware walkie-talkies in India need WPC-approved sets and, for most business bands, a licence. TappyCall runs over the internet, so there is nothing to license and no hardware to buy.
What does end-to-end encrypted actually mean?
Your voice is scrambled on the phone that speaks and unscrambled only on your team's phones. Most apps encrypt to their server, and the server can hear everything — ours cannot, because it never has the keys.
Can I get recordings of what was said?
No, and that is deliberate. Nothing is ever recorded, by us or on the phones. If your business is required to keep audio recordings, TappyCall is honestly not the right tool.
What counts as a paid seat?
A seat is a team member in at least one talk group. Inviting someone costs nothing until you place them in a group. The 14-day trial includes 10 seats.
